step 6: Render Layers
- Once you are close to the final result, you can start creating Render Layers to set up your scene for compositing
- You can create render layers in the Channel Box under the Render tab
- From the icons on the right, click on third one to create a new render layer
- You will need five layers: Diffuse, Specular, Translucency, Shadow and Occlusion
Adding elements
- You will need to add specific elements from the scene to each layer in order for them to work properly in the compositing
- To do that, select the specific objects (further instructions below) and right click on the layer to Add Selected Objects
Layer Overrides
- Each layer will need specific attributes to be modified, but they should only be changed for the specific layer and not the whole scene.
- To do that, right click on the attribute's name and select Create Layer Override
- The attribute's name will turn orange and that means the override is successful.
