Step 8: Compositing in Nuke
- Open Nuke and then right click on the Node Graph to select Image and then Read. (Keyboard shortcut is R)
- Select the images that resulted from the Batch Render and open them
- Also, open the photograph that contains only one marshmallow as this will be the background
Connecting nodes
- Hit M to create a Merge node and change it's blend mode to screen
- Use this node to connect Diffuse and Translucence
- Add a second Merge node (screen) to connect the other with Specular
- Hit C to create a Color Correct node for the Shadow
- Right click on Occlusion and select Color and then Invert
- Right click on Shadow and select Shuffle
- Only use the master adjustments in the color correct nodes
- You can change the color of the shadow to verify its position in the scene
- There is no specific set of nodes that work for all images. Experiment with the different options to make your image look like it does when you previewed it in Maya.
Writing the final image
- Right click on the Node Graph and select Write (W)
- Under the Write properties, select TIF for your image format and set compression to none
- Click Render to write the image
